Beautiful photography by David Lazar from Australia
Art does not reproduce the visible, rather it makes it visible.
A picture is not thought out and settled before hand. While it is being done it changes as one’s thought’s change and when it is complete it still goes on changing, according to the state of mind of whoever is looking at it.
I hope you will join me as I begin a new journey to share my creative process with you….as many of you know my life has been everything but boring. A lot of it is not exactly what I expected Sometimes a little too adventurous even for my liking. My life has been about obstacles, pain and suffering as it has been about joy, great friendships and so much love! I continue to “rise above” so much that has been handed to me .
I have always wanted something different, namely a satisfying career and the freedom to move and to take risks and mostly to be FREE!!! I use to dream of distant travel, fancy jobs, living in a foreign land, doing good, helping others and being an independent person!!!
These urges and my persistence to be “independent” landed me a full scholarship to a small liberal arts College in the United States. I arrived with one bag and some small change in my pocket ready to take on the world.
Much changed since that day I landed in this country on a hot August morning in 1985…………
What has really struck me through out this journey is that I cannot change any of the circumstances that have occurred but my response to these occurences is what has always mattered. I have never given up and my key to success remains Persistence.
Welcome to my new blog!
I was born and raised in Calcutta, India. I received my BFA in Visula Arts from Wesleyan College, Macon, GA in the United States. Since graduation in 1989, I have been on an amazing journey. It is my goal here to share what has inspired me to create and let you glimpse into my journey via my sketches and notes. I have enjoyed translating many of these sketches and experiences into oil paintings over the past 25 years in a foreign country far away from my home- Kolkata. Please enjoy and your thoughts and comments are always appreciated!
